I was hunting at stand location that was drawing deer and hogs Saturday morning when a 150 lbs hog came 10-15 yards away eating corn. It was right at light and although I could easily see my pins since it was a black hog I was having trouble locating my shot placement. So I had to let down my draw and wait a few or minutes (maybe 1 minute you know how it goes...it always seems longer) long story short I drew back and let one fly after getting confident on my placement. I immediately heard a loud smack as the impact of the ST hit right behind the front shoulder (I am 90% sure of the placement it all happened so fast) sadlly the arrow stopped in the other shoulder with out passing through, but since it was a quartering away shot I still felt confident. The hog jumped and ran (with an arrow sticking out of it) through a feeder leg snapping the protruding 12-15 inches of a 29 inch arrow off and leaving the rest inside.
I found good blood 15 yards from the shot however after the first 10 yrds or so the blood trail turned into drops every foot or so. The blood trail ended after crossing a fence and there was no hog to be found.
AHHHHH....I cant believe it.
