    Wet this weekend

Well I ain't missed a weekend yet and don't plan on it. Gonna bring my rain gear. Looks like a wet one. Anyone else gonna sit it out? I like those Allen tree umbrellas. I set mine up and then I can Atleast take my jacket off. Leave my bottoms on so I don't get wet sitting down. Some of my favorite hunts have been riding out the storm and then the woods come alive when the rain stops.

i love hunting in the rain, and when it slows or stops, the deer are usually up on their feet

Yes sir! I remember one time last year I was pretty high up in an oak tree. In a climber. The tree was swaying pretty good. Lighting. Pretty rough storm. I felt safe enough to stay though and actually thought man this is pretty dang cool. After the rain stopped I saw several animals. Got back to camp that night. My dad said man I enjoyed the heck outta that lol. I said me too!

I don't want to but not sure if I can get to my stand if we get the rain they're talking about. Have three low water crossing to consider and if I do go can I get back. I have to walk in.

This will be the first weekend I've missed.. Told my wife I took the weekend off so we could spend time together... Little did she know I just didn't want to be swimming this weekend and will pick back up the next weekend when it's dry.

I have hunted in the rain and don't mind it as long as there isn't any lightning. I have seen a lot of deer move just after a rain as long as the wind dies down.
I plan on being at the lease regardless of the weather. There is a slumber party at my house for a bunch of 10 year old girls this weekend. The thunder and lightning may be quieter.

                  You sly devil.

I am going to do the same. Get extra points this weekend and my next trip to the lease, I will stay an extra day or two.

Precisely. We rotate early Friday's here so I switched with a lady. Mine was supposed to be this Friday (don't tell my wife) but I'll take it next weekend to head out early.

Oh the things we do to get a little extra time in the woods...

I'll be heading to the lease with my wife. I have to install a solar panel on my feeder, so that will take up a bit of my time during the rainy mid-day. As far as hunting, I am hoping we get enough of a lull here and there to get deer on their feet.

I planted a dozen fruit trees on the property last Saturday and was banking on the forecast that called for rain today or tomorrow.
It's been pushed all the way until Saturday night now.
I just hope my trees don't die because if that dry soil thru went into

Haven't been out since opening day and just need to get away from the metro mess. Not looking forward to the mud but I do enjoy hunting in the rain and nasty weather for some reason.
