I would be surprised if a young buck did that. That is some pretty serious rubbing he did on that tree. Time to put a camera on it!

Had the same problem and I was pizzzzd! That until the wife told me I had the green light for backyard deer, they used to be pets but they've turned into evil tree killing rose bush eating demons that all need to die.
