$4k a month? Holy cow. I was upset knowing my wife owed barely 5-digits. I couldn't imagine doing what y'all have done. Congratulations!

Congrats! I'm looking forward to that feeling....someday!

Also if you are a penny pincher, look on ebay for TVs. I've bought 3 refurbished tvs from samsung, my latest was a refurbished 65" Samsung 4k TV origianlly $5999 tv for $1800, had it for over a year never had any issues. Samsungs refurbishing process is extremely trustworthy.

You must have been paying on the loan a long time! You look pretty old in your avatar.

            Seasoned...Chew....Seasoned

we had a couple of large lump sum payments that helped a lot on getting that amount down but that really only shaved off a few months. the majority came from sacrifice and knuckling down to do it to have this elephant off our back.

That's a great feeling. I had a big debt in medical bills after 3 surgeries and chemo and all the oncology appointments. The wife and I celebrated when it was paid off!

To all those still paying, keep it up and pay as much as you can afford. I know it sucks big time but its worth the sacrifice. we paid minimums a couple of months because of other bills/ Christmas/ ect.

Well done tbeak!! I'm two years out of school with right at 100k and still in the theoretical fledgeling beginnings of the Dave Ramesy Method. Glad to see it worked for you--only 7 more years of payments for me woohhoo!!

Wow! Sounds like you at least have a good job to be dumping that much money into it! Congrats!

that means she can quit her job now and stay home with the kids (if any)

Big congrats to the two of you!!! It is a testament to your hard work and sacrifice that you will no longer owe that much money. It is ludicrous how much money it "costs to finance" things. Go out and celebrate in a big way, you folks have earned it!!!
