Good initiative, bad judgment.

Did you ever think about that, Leon? Huh, did you?
For the record, I'm not offended one bit. Like yall, I'm trying to make sense out of all this.

My name is Madysen, I'm a student that goes to Summer Creek and one of the students that received the gifts while participating in the Good Sportmanship League on Friday night. Usually we begin by giving our names and shaking hands. However, in this case no names were given no hands were shook, the first thing Atascocita said when they walked up was, "We got y'all some watermelon." I'm also of black and white race. At first I did not take this offensively due to being confused to what was actually being said and taking place. It was until later that I understood what they may or may not have been trying to say. Summer Creek, a school of predominant African American race shouldn't take things like this lightly. We've been to rival volleyball games with Atascocita where they made, "Where's your daddy?", "Welfare.", and "Where's your real hair?" Into chants. This isn't the first offense of Atascocita High School has acted more or less offensively. I know many amazing people at Atascocita, and it is a great school. I just believe thinking twice wouldn't hurt about what you say or do that may offend so many people

I'd be talking to an attorney this morning. No way I'm going to let some over educated idiots damage my daughters reputation for something so petty. These people will not respond to reasonable talk and logical thinking. The only thing that will get their attention is exposure by the media and loud angry parents. Time to get loud!!!
