    German hunting license

Hello Everybody Just joined in Sept. Really enjoy reading all of the
good information. Has any body else on here have a
German hunting license? I am a army vet from 1968 to 1971.
Spent two years in Sweinfort(sp). When I got there I discovered a ROD and GUN club on base. The German hunters were allowed to come on base and shoot trap and skeet at the club. I found out that they offered a class to get your hunting license. I was able to hunt in Germany with the German hunters.
Every year they would have a drive hunt for big rabbits and we got to join them. Hope you all don't mind but I can't spell very good. With the German hunting license you could carry your guns in your car to go hunting. Just been bow hunting for about 5 years and really enjoy it. I am a true baby boomer.
8-26-46. Dad was in world war 2 got home in Nov I arrived in Aug 1946.
If you have every heard of Krause springs. They are my cousin.

No German hunting license but I do have a German hunting dog, Deutsch Drahthaar. Did any of the German hunters hunt with one?

Welcome to the Fire! Thanks for your service from another vet. Yes on German hunting license. Got to take many a Roe Buck and one was a Gold medal Perucke Buck. Chamois near the Austrian border, numerous Boar and so many drive hunts I couldn't count. And yes to the Drahthaar being used by hunters. german law required hunters to posses a dog mainly for tracking. The Drahthaars I saw were mostly on drive hunts. great time hunting during my tour to Germany!

Really enjoyed my hunting time while there. After a drive hunt they would take every body to the local guest house for a meal and german beer. I wasn't much of a beer drinker but that beer sure was a lot stronger than ours. I think they lived on beer. Those were the days we could get a good german meal for four marks. You could get four marks to a dollar exchange. I regreat not trying to buy a german drilling shot gun rifle combow while i was there. They were pretty pricey back then on a army pay check. I got 82 dollars a month when i went in and was getting around 350
                  when i got out as a sp5.
