    Feeder Issue

New everything- battery, solar panel, 12 volt motor, timer, eliminator spinner plate. Battery reads fully charged (13.2 volts). When the feeder is supposed to spin the spinner plate does not spin unless you spin it a little with your fingers then it will spin. There are 13.2 volts coming out of the timer going to the motor. I'm guessing bad motor. What do y'all think?? Thanks!

test it without corn (free spin), direct to the battery and eliminate any cable or obstruction issues.

      That would be my guess.

Or make sure there isn't any string wrapped around the motor rod/plate area from your corn bag.

See what the voltage is while its spinning or trying to spin. Might be a bad battery. If the voltage drops way off while under load replace the battery.

Try a different battery. Even though it says it has 13 volts it may not have the amperage 7amps for example. Seen it many times. Id start there. A friend of mine went to feed store and bought one new and the exact thing happened. Showed fully charged but would not spin spinner unless you moved it with your fingers and even then it would barely turn. replaced battery and it was back up running again

Mine was doing that & I had to spray a little WD40 on it. Not sure if it will help yours, but it's worth a try.

Sounds like the motor shaft is sticking a little .

Is the set screw on the motor shaft tight? I've seen it happen lol.

I have a bunch of the same motors at my place. I have one that needs to be turned manually a few times to break up the dirt or whatever is in there. As said try a lubricant. If not then start changing parts out. Let us know.

Sprayed with WD 40. Same issue. Set screw is tight. Bring new motor and battery with me this weekend. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Sounds to me like the timer is reading the voltage from the solar panel but the battery is dead or the connections to the battery are bad.
