    rage broadhead malfuntion?

I use rages and love them. I have never lost a deer and with such a massive wound channel it didn't matter where I hit them they bleed and died. o this year my kid was using a crossbow and hit deer perfect a little high. ran 20 yards and stopped slowly walked away with very small wound and no running blood. not what I have seen. has anyone had experience with rages not opening.

Yes I have one bounce back out of a doe. My guess is that it failed to open and hit the opposite shoulder.

I quit using them because they are prone to failure.

there have been hundreds if not thousands of issues, when they work they are great,,, they just don't always work as intended,, I won't shoot them but I am primarily I fixed blade user anyway, if I do use a mechanical its grim reaper or wasp jak hammers

My girlfriend hit a Mule deer doe a lil far back. Full pass through. Tracked the Doe a mile with good blood. Lost the trail picked it back up again and then found the doe about 3 hours later... still alive. She took off, made two more ridges and then bedded again. We waited and then caught up to her again still alive. We pushed her again. Waited and never got back on blood. We were thinking liver. My complaint is more with the shot. Good blood for a real long long time. Just a really tough deer.

The contrary of them opening in flight was their biggest issue. That's why the band changed in the hypodermics.

I use rage and like them. I'm on the fence about switching to a montec or another fixed blade. As with anything, the more moving parts, the greater the chance of failure.

I shot this deer at 10 yards with a rage. It failed to penetrate more than two inches. I killed the deer the following year. He had healed up fine.

I've heard that when they (mechanicals) do not deploy its primarily due to operator error.
....as in the operator made an error when selecting which broadhead to buy.

NAP Kill Zone = basically the new and improved rage.

Or what the rage should've been in the first place.

I'm one for one with a hypodermic. Got my very first bow kill yesterday morning on a nice buck. I actually hit in the front of the shoulder in the brisket area. Must've hit an artery, huge wound channel and blood everywhere.

Stuck a doe at 25 yards with one. The deer ran off and the arrow fell to the ground. The head was never opened. It had hair packed in the blade and it appeared that it stopped the from opening. It also appeared to only penetrated 1/2 inch by the amount of blood on the tip.
