    15... I'm due....

I have let 15 bucks walk... 15!! and not like, ehh bad shot... Like chip shot I could burn you down catch and release style let walk... all look like they need a year or 2 more... I've let two that I think are 4.5 walk... One tempted me but man. I'm due for something older... also it would 16 if you count the one spike I saw... I was hoping for bigger so he got to live, but at 8 yards standing broadside I thought about it hard.

I had one I think was older close this weekend. I heard a man sized grunt and then neighbor turned on diesel truck blew them out of there.

Hope they stay on our place, I KNOW one neighbor would call all but 2 of the ones I've seen "trophies"... But he shoots everything...

I have yet to see anything older than 2 1/2 YO 6 point so far.
I did however hear a subtle grunt right before a shrub exploded saturday afternoon running off all the does and spike at the feeder. Hope to get a glimpse at what did it

I am just impressed that you have seen 15 different bucks! I have only seen about 6 -7different bucks in the last 2 months and I have 5 cameras running on 645 acres.

I have seen 1 5.5 year old in the last 5 years lol...

I know you gotta let them grow but I just HATE that we have CRAP neighbors one side... On the up side I've seen more one the "safe" side of the ranch, but there is a 8 that will be a MIRACLE if he makes it...

think of it this way, you can't control everyone else. but, you can control yourself. if you don't let them go, then their is 100% chance they don't get older.

plus, you should watch this study of a buck. see how little his actual range is. now, this will be different for different parts of the country and each individual deer. but, it is interesting to note that deer may not travel nearly as far as we think outside of about a 3 week period. which means that the deer you see on your property in October are likely to be there year after year. the chances of a neighbor shooting them are lower than you might realize.

the deer is more likely to get shot by other lease members.

in summation, keep your head up and know you are doing the right thing.

It's still early in the season. Maybe when the rut kicks in you'll see an old monarch in your set up as he cruises for does. If you put in the stand time you'll see a shooter. That's what makes it so worth it. Best of luck to you this season.

                      bahahhahahah lol

I know I know I need to let them walk... 0% chance they get shot by other lease members, cause its me and one other guy and he wont shoot less than a STUD 4.5 year old targeting 5.5 and older...

I know its great to see that many deer but my finger is ITCHY... Need a pig to walk up and relieve some tension...

I have some great video from this weekend... wish it woulda turn it to blurry mush when you move it off the phone...

Sounds like a great problem to have to me! practice drawing and letting off a time or two when you have a chance. It helps your itch!

I saw 5 different mature 8 points last week. Three of which were really nice. It was tough to let them walk.

Good thing I hunt for meat and never have to be in this situation.

I'm not even counting deer on camera... We run 8 cameras on 550 acres... on that place I have let 9 separate bucks walk. This is the MLD place so I am PICKY PICKY PICKY

The other 6 were at the place in the hill country I hunt... Its way small so not a ton I can do there, I'll shoot the first 4.5+ deer I get a shot at there.

But dang I'm just due to see SOMTHING older... even a freak
