Windmill Pasture??? or something like that. We hunted it for MD 14 years or so ago. Great, easy, fun spot and stalk hunting. 4 for 4 with all respectable bucks. We used a one wheel (bicycle wheel) hauler to haul out our animals. Easy peasy. Good luck, have fun.
Congratulation on Matador! I did the Mule Deer Archery hunt a couple of years ago out there. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful as was everyone else on that hunt. Gun hunt in December will be great up there.
Grizzman any info you can share, I've never hunted mulies so any pointers would help, also any Info on matador. Did u stay at the park? What all do I need to brings ??

I'll shoot you a PM when I get home from work. I stayed at the campsite and was comfortable but that was in October not early December.
At Matador, there could be muleys anywhere, but there are usually a few more of them in the pastures that have the rougher canyons, as long as there is water somewhere nearby. I hunted one year in a pasture that was bone dry, and we only saw one small group of mule deer the whole time. There is probably more water available this year than in some drier years past though. Pay attention to the wheat field food plots they have scattered around.
Biggest mulies I have ever seen, minus one in NM while guiding were on the west and southwest sides of the refuge. Rough and very sandy so 4x4 is essential. A diesel is a stretch to drive down the west fence line due to its weight and deep sand. Last time I drove down it in my 95 PSD, I blew out the hubs in the sand. A few years ago, but might be worth a look.
