    Killeen area deer processors

I tried to do a search on here but just would get a blank screen. Anyone know of a reliable deer processor around Killeen? I know Cosper's but was looking for more options. I've always used P&R out at 963 and 183 and they've always done a great job but was looking for something closer. Probably need one that's open fairly late.

    Thanks
    Dave

Ive used cospers once and they did a pretty good job. I usually do my own. Out of sheer laziness I actually dropped off a deer at hunters creek out in liberty hill a couple days ago. Can't comment yet haven't gotten meat back yet though.

Prairie Dell Meat Company outside of Salado does quality work.

Millers in Belton is fantastic. They use brisket trimmings for the fat to add to the sausage and it is unique and awesome. I used to have my deer processed at Greens in Zabczickville, but they messed up about 30 pounds of jerky (it was inedible) a few years ago and that's when I changed to Millers.

Thanks everyone. We use to do all our own processing but got out of it years ago. I may give a few of these places a call and see how late they are open. Been seeing some decent deer around my feeder but haven't wanted to take a shot without having someplace lined up to take it.

One of my Hunting buddies took his buck to Boss Hog off of 2657, outside of Copperas Cove this year. Prices weren't bad, service was great, got it back in two days and the sausage was fantastic.

I have mine done at Wenzel's in Hamilton. They're an old, well known place, do a great job. Everything is labeled and shrink-wrapped. Except for the backstrap and tenders, I have them make their "Polish Grillers" sausage. An average full sized doe will make about a box and a half (printer paper box size) of sausage. It's scrumptious.
