The other thing that vanes are not good for is shooting through that mesh screen... I killed my second biggest buck by shooting thru mesh because he was so spooky, I didn't chance taking it down when he showed up suddenly. I tried shooting thru it with blazers on some hogs and it's no bueno, at least for me. When practicing later, I couldn't even consistently hit a block target at 20 yards shooting thru the mesh with vanes...
I never thought about vanes and mesh. I shoot thru mesh 100% of the time when I shoot a compound. Never had a single problem shooting feathers thru mesh. Would be interesting to see if anyone else has issues with plastic vanes and mesh.

Feathers are very noisy, USED to shoot them. Been shooting 4" vanes and as someone said vewy, vewy quiet, shhh! They are also not affected by rain. Being 4" and low profile they aren't hard to get good clearance plus I feel they are less finicky than the 2" vanes.

You shoot a broadhead that is larger than your fletching? If not, I don't see how the mesh could not mess with arrow flight. They would have to contact the mesh hard when they pass thru unless the hole is bigger because the vanes will not collapse like feathers. I know it sure did not work for me. I was shooting snuffers with 2" blazers. haven't tried it with the Razor Tricks since I switch a few years back. I guess it could be that the blazers couldn't recover enough to stablize the big ol' snuffer. Shooting clean, they flew perfect. Also shot ok with feathers thru mesh. Arra was 600 grains too. oscillation too much? don't know. just didn't work for me.

Does it fly good? I was always told a 4 fletch needed a 4 blade broadhead.

Switched to 2" blazers. Although I like the look of feathers and shot them for a long time. They are too delicate and get screwed up pretty quickly for me, even when traveling and just forget it if your a spot hog. Plus after passing through an animal its easier to cleanup the blazers than the feathers. I do like the look of feathers better though.
