How does a family "shut that down" exactly?

Really easy. Fire should never have been named after the family in the first place. Even at the time of naming the fire no one was really sure what started it. By calling it the Luecke fire, everyone will associate and blame the fire on them. Not right at all.

Fire was started by a shredder

              I don't know, so I'm just asking.

Was it started by a shredder on the Luecke ranch? The one with the name Luecke that you can see from space?

If so, I could understand the original naming of the fire.

If not, then I don't know how they could have named it that from the beginning.

The fire was started on their land. So yes, as the name is seen from the sky spelled out in the trees, it was named the luecke Fire. After it spread through the back woods of smithville and bastrop, it was renamed the Hidden pines fire. No matter what started it, it originated on their land. Plus it wasn't like they were burning trash in a burn ban. Just shredding the weeds.

Fire is whipped. Still a few hot spots to put out. Can't wait for that rain to get here. We are shifting gears to recovery now.
