    Boykin Spaniel

Hey yall. My wife and I are getting ready to buy us a new dog and we have decided on a boykin. I have done some looking around and it's kinda slim pickins here in texas. Well, there's a few breeders I've found but most have a long waiting period. My question is, does anyone have any recommendations for a breeder? From what I've seen we will be looking in the $1200 range to get a pup. Is that about the norm?

We're in the same boat. Started looking last week. Can't even get a reply from some breeders. If you find any let me know and I'll do the same

We got one from a rescue, she is no champion but she is a great dog and has the softest mouth I have ever seen. Good luck in your search.

I've got a Boykin that came from a breeder in south Louisiana. She's two and still wired for sound, but she is a great dog.

Most good breeders are going to be East and will have puppies spoken for well in advance.

I would think $1000 is about as low as you will find. I got Jake from Nancy Boykin with Hunters Rest Kennels

Got mine from Red Creek Kennels (http://www.jimmyfwright.com/) in SE Mississippi. 9 hours drive from Frisco. Paid $925. He's birdy and has been for several months. He's 10 months now and I've already taken him dove hunting a few times. I'm happy.

That's my pup's name as well! Short for Tigger cuz he's bouncy, pouncy and fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! I call him "Tig" most of the time, though.

I had both of mine flew in, I trusted my breeders to pick the pup for me.

Just put a deposit in with him for a new Boykin pup, they just had a couple litters. Thanks for the lead!

I would go east for a Boykin and get them shipped to you or fly out and get one.

I was in Wisconsin last week and saw that there was a boykin breeder just East of where I was staying. On my next trip, I plan on stopping in and seeing his operation.
