Well at least you know they are in the area! Getting in the stand this evening with weather permitting?
Won't be hunting anymore this weekend unfortunately
Going to avoid the weather as much as possible
Probably going to buy a couple things for the place though (pop ups and another game camera or two) along with a recliner to toss in the camp house and I'm hoping to be able to head up there Sunday around lunch to get it all up.
Still need to get a camera going at another feeder along with a stand to be able to hunt it
You gonna smoke split brow if he shows up or are you gonna wait for big boy then go after split brow?
Meh
Don't know if I'll stick a arrow in split brow
He's been strictly nockturnal also so he's playin it smart. I honestly am 100% focused on a aoudad. It'll take a 140-145"+ deer to get my attention and the odds of seeing a sucker like that aren't the best.
Only exception is if I'm rattling on some of these more open hills on the place and bring in a decent buck and if the shakes start all bets are off.
Might let Bree try and stick him though if she ever has the chance
Possibly heading down with the girly friend this weekend but weather is trying to say differently
Papa Bear is saying he found a major trail that cuts within 2 yards of my current brush blind and said he found some massive tracks going down it and thinks the aoudad are coming in from behind me and are winding me..... Guessing a move is a must.
The trail:
This is the current set up:
Colored circles are the blind, yellow X is the feeder
I cant go anywhere on the other side of the feeder since thats where most of the other critters come from and I'll be busted routinely:
Brown arrows are the major trails I've seen and green is the suspected aoudad trail
So I'm thinking about setting up a pop up just across the sendero from my current location? Thoughts?
New set up:
I figured that might just give me enough clearance with a SE wind to let them come down that trail, however a N wind completely takes this setup out of the equation for hunting
