    Aussie for tracking?

I have an australian shepherd and she is by far the smartest dog I have ever been around. Has anybody used a aussie for tracking or have any advice for training? Thanks!

I don't have any advice, but as a kid we grew up on an exotic game ranch and my dad used one for tracking wounded animals. Every animal we put him on if I remember correctly he found.

I'm trying to get my Aussie to track. She has had some high points, but my wife keeps just putting feed in her bowl, so I am fighting an uphill battle

Mine is part Aussie and part Lab. She was a pup last year but did pretty well.

Ive had a few and the only things i can think of that work against them is 1) they are a pretty sight driven dog, very smart but they use their eyes not noses 2) a.d.d. - would get very bored tracking, unless they can chase it... then its game on.
