I wanted to see if someone would help me in learning how to use a map for pre-scouting. I generally use Google Earth to find a area that I like the looks of, and then just start there and walk around to I find a place that just looks "Deery" I can sometimes see trails on the maps, but what should I really be looking for. Especially on a Topographical map.
I have a public hunt coming up at the Balcones Canyonland Refuge. I attached the Google Earth map & a Terrain map. I understand that there is not to much terrain change on the unit but explain to me where to hunt on a canyon or ridge and why
Thanks for any help
