At one time I was that friend, now I am saved and try to live in the word. A great friend of mine simply exposed me to a group of Christian friends and church. Early on we spoke of our beliefs and upbringing. After an invite to a baptist based Christian church the wife and I were hooked and 6 months later we were baptized in the bay with many others. Just a suggestion to "try it out" from my friend was all it took in our case. Everyone is different but as a Christian I believe it's an obligation to spread the word. If your friend is not receptive that shouldn't mean you quit trying. Good Christians attract other good Christians. Now I am not saying stop being friends, I am saying don't stop trying to spread the word. I have a very good buddy that did not believe there was anything out there, now after years of talking about God he admits there is a higher power. I know that's a baby step but it's a step in the right direction. Pray for your friend, show him/tell him how to recognize how blessed we all are, and invite him to experience a church service.

Like mentioned, be the light. let him see Christ in you. I think that's where a lot of Christians go wrong.. we should spread the word, but we shouldn't condem or judge those who don't want to listen.Comment

Ive been through the same thing. Carl was and still is my best friend since 6th grade. I tried and tried to get him to come to a revival at our church. Three different pastors, three days in a row. I just tried to get him to go once. He believed in God but didn't want to go to the church house. I got so frustrated and mad and then thought this isn't very Christian like. I'm doing this for the wrong reasons. A couple weeks later he called and asked if I could pick him up for church. He said he enjoyed it but he hasn't been back. But he told me he prays now and talks to God more than ever.Comment
