He used to drive a tow truck and it was ALWAYS parked out in front of his house when he wasn't out on a call. But for about the last week the tow truck has not been at his house at all. So I don't think so. I do know that some of his neighbors have called and reported his loud music, but since he has a police scanner, every time they dispatch an officer, he turns the music down before they can show up. So nothing has ever been done.

My wife and I have been looking around at a new house since ours is just too small now that we have a daughter. So we are watching this REALLY closely and hoping it's not something major. A VERY large majority of people in this neighborhood are renters, except for us. The neighborhood is starting to go downhill but I'm afraid if this is something major it could adversely effect home values before we have a chance to sell.

We had a suicide across the street. Home values are still up. In fact the very house the lady offed herself sold in a week after the family cleaned it up and put it up for sale. My new neighbors told me what they paid and it was much more than what the original owners did in 1999. I'm not sure what could happen that would involve police or and ambulance down the road that would drive your house value down. Don't sweat it.

Just curious....did the people know someone committed suicide when they bought it or did it freek them out when they found out? Not sure why but that would freek me out.

The first 3 years I lived at my present residence the house right across the street was a known crack/dope house. They were actually the best folks renting the place. Always kept their yard mowed house in good repair, no parties/loud music. Then they had to go and rent it out to low life wife beaters. Always loud music, screaming ,fighting and cop cars all the time.

They knew about it and were fine with it.. I'm pretty sure it has to be revealed by the realtor.

                  .
I would venture to say this is correct from the Texas Real Estate Law class I took.

What was the police and ambulance activity at the house?
I'd have walked over and asked on of the officers. Worst he could say is "go home".

Yes. The "sellers disclosure statement" has to completed. By law. Death must be disclosed, among other things.
My wife, being a broker, has dealt with this to many times. Most of the time it's a deal breaker. Some folks do not like death and or suicide taking place where they may live next. Freaks them out.

We do have a house about 1/2 mile down the road where a mother and a son offed themselves about a year apart. Son used a shotgun and mom OD'd. Sad sad deal..!!!! House sold no problem.

It is typically quiet and has been quiet except for this guy cranking his stereo for the last week or two. Before about 2 weeks ago, he would only occasionally crank it up, like once every 6 months or so. So yeah, for the most part it is a very quiet neighborhood.
