    Help with boat value

Looking at buying the following boat.....

    2005 Tracker Grizzly 2072
20ft long 72" wide at the floor
    2005 60hp Mercury EFI-tiller steer
    No electronics or trolling motor
Open floor plan. No center console. I prefer open floor.

I paid a mechanic to inspect already and he said it doesn't need any work.

I can get it for $7,000.

NADA values average retail at $7,500. Not sure how accurate it is.

    Is this boat worth $7,000?

Might be a little high . I don't think he's way out of ballpark on it tho

                Tires in good shape?
How many hours are on the motor?
These are a few small things that can make or break a good deal sometimes good luck!

a 60hp motor on a 2072 might leave a little to be desired. That being said is it a tunnel hull, jack plate? Elect tilt/trim, pull start? does it have a floor? bilge pump? trolling motor? I personally think it a little high, but if it has low hours might be ok. When was the last time it was run? how old is gas in the tank? be prepared to replace fuel lines, probably sooner than later.

nada.com will give you the value of the boat, motor, and trailer.

I think 7k is a little high for that boat.

NADA is not a bad tool. It will get you ballpark normally. How is the trailer? I personally think this is too high. Would maybe go 6k if the trailer is good. Did you do a compression test on the motor?

Sounds a little high. Not outrageous.
