This is the first year I have really focused on bow hunting and have been reading tons and tons. Due to a lucky situation I am able to hunt on a buddy's ranch on several hundred acres in the Hico/Stephenville area. Since I am low on money I couldn't afford to put a feeder out so I have been hand tossing corn in the back corner of his place in an open area next to a heavily wooded area.
I recently put up a trail camera and have been consistently getting 5-6 bucks on it everyday. However, the bucks have been coming almost everyday between 5:30-6:30am before shooting light. One night they came at 7:00-7:30pm and one morning at 8am, which is inconsistent with their pattern. I have a tree stand up and have been sitting in it the last 3 nights after work but have only seen a doe on two nights at around 7:45pm at very last light.
My question is: Do I sit out at evenings and just hope they happen to come by again or wait for weekends and hunt really early and hope they stay until sun up? I am also wondering if the deer will come out in light more once it starts cooling down, it's been high 70s here in the evenings.
