Bagley normally finds that deer in 10 minutes after we take up the track.
And that right there is what its about sir. My hats off to you for that.

I hope to have a dog that will track in the future and Id like to be that guy "who saved the day" or put a smile on some hunters face. As mentioned I love watching a dog work, whether the dog be looking for dope or a dove. Theres also the rewarding part the tracker gets when a dog he/she trained finds a deer the hunter couldn't.

Buff nailed it. Nothing better than a kids deer especially if it's their first

Living in what is mostly pine timber, even a short blood trail can be tuff as the blood falls down in the pine straw.
        Typical call

x2. might have to take a trip to shoot an exotic just for a excuse to meet him and shake his hand.

I'm very very novice in my training of a tracking dog, as I only have one, he's my first tracking dog, and its only his second season. But I will say everything these guys are saying is consistent with everything I've been taught over the last 2 years. I try real hard to set my dog up for success when I can, last year for awhile I would go find my animal before I let him track it to make sure it was dead, and after awhile just let him do his thing and he did great! The only time I had him track a deer that I wasn't in the blind to watch the animal shot we went to the spot of last blood and he took 5 steps into the brush and was on the doe! Guy's flashlight was dying and he couldn't see the 5 yards in front of him! I'm not comfortable enough with my dog yet to let him track a strangers deer though, I hate the idea of letting someone down... You guys have taught me a lot though and I respect the work you do!

I agree with what the others have said.
Unfortunately many times the hunters have significantly decreased the odds of finding the deer before they call me. I don't run my dog to make money. I do it because I love to watch him work. If people would just be patient and not run out and contaminate the trail which in turn usually leads to jumping the bedded deer, things would be much better for everyone.

Long lead... I know there's many who track off lead, but I also know some who have had their dogs wounded or killed tracking off lead.
