Will hogs jump into a feen pen?

I have a pen that is surrounded by 5 strands of barbed wire to keep the cattle out, which is working perfectly. But it is allowing hogs into the pen and I want to keep them out. I have 6 or 7 16x4 foot panels I used for a trap. If I cut the panels longways and only have em 2ft tall, will the pigs jump over it?

maybe not, but if they get a snout under one, game over

      2 foot yes! I've witnessed a hog jump a 3' panel.

Probably so. I would use full panels.

          Panels

I've had them bend and jump over 4' panels.

In a heartbeat...I've seen the same - the only luck I have had is the 3fter but I have also seen them jump in.

Pigs can jump a lot higher than you think. But if you keep barb wire above the panels I think it will be hard for them to do. Just make sure it is very secure at the bottom. Maybe even dig a trench in the ground where the panels are going to go and bury the panel about 6 inches into the ground. Then run your barbed wire close together above the panels.

Y'all seen them jump into a feeder pen?

I've seen then jump out of a trap.....but never jump in one.

I use the 32/34" panels and have never had a pic of a hog in them....ever. I think 24" would work.
Maybe my pigs are just lazy.

                    Oh...build them round...not square

I think this is what im going to do. Remove bottom 2 strands, run the cut panels, and re strand using the 2 removed along the top in conjunction with the other 3 strands. Be bad idea if one tried to get over..

This was another curiosity of mine. Ive walked up to trapped hogs and seen them personally tear down a 4ft panel to try to get out, and succeeded. But jumping in, its hard for me to imagine that.

I've always used the 36" panels and never had a problem with pigs getting in.

2 feet is no problem but it depends on how hungry they are.
I have seen big boars clear a 4 foot pay pen. Our bay pen is 5 foot and that has kept them inside so far but I've heard others say they'll jump that too if they are motivated enough.
