This article is older so you guys may have seen it but I did a search on here and didn't see it posted so I figured I would share. Did testing with a drug dog on cover scents, ozonics, scent killers, etc.
I think it may have been tossed around on a thread, but its definitely a good read and worthy of a re-post.
I actually purchased the scent killer ozone creator to throw into my carbon bag where I keep my hunting clothes. No clue if it helped any or not this weekend as the wind was perfect and I never saw any deer haha
I was asking on another post about coon cover scent on my boots because I got busted quite a bit this weekend. Looks like a cover scent is the way to go if you cannot afford an ozonics.
I was really surprised that the dog followed the trail he made wearing freshly scrubbed rubber boots just as easily as the trail wearing leather boots. I wonder how many deer we never see because we walk in to our stand on a trail the deer use thinking it will be OK cause' we are wearing rubber boots.
I read the same article in the magazine last week, it's dang interesting.
The elk outfitter I hunted with a few weeks ago believed in the sprays. They soak themselves with spray until they are completely wet and keep applying as they sit over water holes. Said they have good success that way.
