I just can't see myself ever living anywhere but Texas. I love where I live currently (east Texas), but it does lack some things (turkey, dove, quail). So if I had to live somewhere else, it would be in North Texas, maybe around Abilene or Weatherford or somewhere that gave me access to the things I don't have in east Texas.

I would stay in Amarillo, and if I had to go some where probably go to western Oklahoma (closest place to the panhandle)

grew up in Hawaii and I always thought that would be my end all destination. Been in Texas 9 years and don't ever want to leave. Would love to have enough acreage for food/cattle and hunting around central Texas and a place in western New Mexico

              1. lots of good choices, but Nacogdoches, Brenham, Fredericksburg and Alpine all top my list.

              2. Portland, OR or Durango, CO. You pick. No wrong answer.

What is with the panhandle people? (nearly all my family is there, and I still don't "get it")

Central Texas/Hill Country, and it look like you're already there. I could do West Texas, as strange as it sounds I actually enjoyed living in Lubbock while in college. I also lived in East Texas during undergrad. and I can't say that I'd ever want to do more than just drive though. No way those pines would do it for me.

Outside of Texas, I'd like to live somewhere on the coast, at least for a few years. If in Texas, somewhere from Port O'Connor to Corpus Christi. If outside of Texas, somewhere from Orange Beach, AL to Destin, FL. That entire area is beautiful.

I'll go against the grain here, but I hate cold weather and I'm a water/boating/fishing/tropical/heat person, not a cold weather/snow/bundle up/freeze ur arse off/mountain person. I enjoy visiting the mountains of CO. and NM. and they are beautiful, but no way I'd hang my hat there. Just not my cup of tea as far as every day life.

Somewhere in San Augustine Co, on the shores of Big Sam, with a couple hundred acres would absolutely be heaven on earth to me

Outside of Tx, I would say one of 3 states...Montana, Wyoming, or Tennesee. It's a toss up between the 3 of them

In Tx, I'd have to say I like it quite a bit in the area I live in now. Parker county is pretty nice.
While Tx would be hard to beat, northern Mississippi, where my mom's side of the family is from is absolutely beautiful. Folks are friendly life is slower, and the deer and fishing are great. It would definitely be toward the top of my list.
If the state wasn't filled w/ so many weirdos, California is gorgeous in many areas and has alot to offer. I just don't think I could deal with the people.

                              1) near Sweetwater/San Angelo

                              2) Missouri near Kansas City- lived up there for two years and it was an awesome place to live.
