illegal aliens can't vote can they?

Not trying to start a political thread just asking a question on the voting process.

This morning on the radio they were giving a report saying that they expected the predidential election in Texas to be decided by half a million illegals. I thought you had to be a citizen to vote?

Only citizens can vote, unless they look legal on paper, I guess

When you get a driver's license you can register to vote and we all know how many illegals have DL's.

Half a million illegals can make a sheet pot full of legals given enough time.....and affect the vote indirectly.

No they can't vote. Its basically a scare tactic they are using to pass laws which make it harder for Americans to vote. There have been very few if any prosecutions for voter fraud in the US mainly because there isn't any. They use voter ID laws to suppress the vote in certain areas. Its pretty un-American IMHO. I'm more worried about fraud from electronic voting machines, than people trying to vote more than once, or illegals voting. Its much easier to manipulate a machine than thousands of people.

I would like to see a law that states that if you don't pay taxes than you can't vote. Set it up similar to SS you. You have to either be paying taxes or have paid so many years. If you don't contribute to the system than you shouldn't have a say in the system. imo

I heard the same thing this morning on 1200 AM San Antonio. My feeling is, if they are here illegally, they may tend to keep a low profile and not risk the chance of deportation. Keying in information on falsified information and then hanging around a voting booth is probably not a desired way to spend the day.....DEMASIADO ARRIESGADO Y no BUENO!

They should just make auto insurance a requirement to register to vote.

No, illegals can't vote, and adding in additional voter registration requirements has been proven to infringe on Constitutional rights.

But immigrants that have legally become citizens can vote. Apparently there has been record numbers of people becoming citizens so they can vote in this election. I heard some very interesting interviews with a lady from Ireland and a man from Argentina who had lived here for year (working legally on Visas) but just now decided to get citizenship because they feel this is such an important event that will have a massive impact on their future.
