I did that and religion about 3 years ago on here and FB. My social media life has been so much more calm and laid back . My blood pressure thanks me as well.

Good plan, Speedgoat. Read something a long time ago in Dale Carnegie's book. Said no one really "wins" an argument; you may seem to prevail sometimes, but the other person will resent you, and the relationship can be damaged. (Paraphrasing an old recollection of the concept.)

I dont agree with Cruz on some policy, but after reading more and listening, I have decided that I would vote for him. If not for discussion I would not have reached that conclusion.

That's the thing about religion and politics. Most people who already have an opinion are so ideologically entrenched there is no changing of minds. Everybody just talks past each other and are basically listening to their own argument instead of the opposing view. Hopefully, hearing the different sides of an argument will at least help those who have not really thought about it much.

I understand. Had a lively conversation yesterday with an African American democrat. You can fill in the blanks, he didn't know his history and I learned him something

Not trying to say anything against you but does race really matter? There are no differences in race especially when it comes to democrats. I just think if we didn't use race as a describing factor it might just become a non issue.

Also being dark skinned doesn't mean African. Just means they are a different shade. We are all Americans just different mind sets.

The most Liberating things I have done in the last few years was delete my facebook, twitter etc. I don't even talk politics with my wife much anymore. Just live your beliefs. Vote accordingly. And be honest if your asked.
