Several years ago. Started with getting a tandem Emotion Comotion boat for me to take my daughters out in. Then it just got worse.

Ended up owning four kayaks at one point, but am back down to three at the moment.

I've yet to have a bad day in a kayak, whether or not I catch any fish. I can't say the same for power boats. Had plenty of bad days in those, and still didn't catch any fish.

          Youve got that right Limbwalker.

Being so close to the water when its dead calm and the sun is coming up or going down is just a blessing.

I think my next kayak will be pedal driven.

I know a few mirage drive folks who've switched back because they needed to get shallower. I dunno. I've never been in a MD boat, but that's what I was told.

                      Awesome plate Tyak!

Is anyone on facebook? Facebook has a great kyak group:
Fun group to help grow the sport of kayaking in a safe, fun manner. let's show off some fish pics and share some stories.

And i started a meetup.com group called Texas Kayak Angler's Group.

It would be so nice to meetup with some of you guys and do some fishing!

In fact im supposed to meetup with a couple other guys and hit Decker this Sunday morning. Will also probably go down to the coast the following weekend.

I would agree. Im about to purchase another kayak for the wife and am thinking about a plain paddle yak for skinny water on the flats. Its not that big of a deal to pull up my Drive unit, but why hassle with it when i can have two kinds of kayaks.

The peddle drive though is perfect for deeper water, lakes, rivers or BTB

I love it. Got rid of kayak before we move here to San Antonio but will be gettin one soon. When I do I'll give you a shout. Have a house on the coast with the best kayaking waters around.

I am an avid kayak fisherman. I paddle a Jackson Kraken. Sight casting to redfish is as good as it gets for me. I had some success last year in the Lobe Star Kayak Series and a few other events but this year, I have been terrible and cursed with the 1-fish tournament day curse. It's still a lot of fun.

Check out this video of me chasing some upper slot and bull reds in a shallow marsh lake:

Here is a nice upper slot redfish on the fly. You can see him crawling when I point:
