That doesn't make me feel good...I'm on doe patrol this weekend with the same broadhead...

So where did you hit this deer? Pretty important information that is left out.

I've shot rage's and swhackers. Never had great blood trails with either. I got tired of the headache of wonderig if my mechanical performed after the shot and decided to go fixed blade this year. Now I will have four slices in the animal with 0 worry on deployment. Time will tell if the blood trails are better, but I can already say I'm more confident with fixed. If you have been doing well with fixed, my advice is to stay there.

That's impressive! I couldn't imagine shooting 86 yards, but I know on an antelope you kind of have to make long shots

I hope so, I know shot placement is important as always. I haven't lost an animal yet and I don't plan on losing one anytime soon. I've never had a deer run more than 40yds with my fixed heads. Hoping to do the same with mechs.

it looked like a low lung back and the back portion of a heart shot but we searched for her followed tracks had dogs come out. No blood at all found the arrow it had hair and some meat on it but nothing. Idk if i hit a void or it shifted directions from a bone or what but after my cousin shot her it looked as if it should have been a kill shot

i shot a black bear with the same broad head and it went maybe 15 yards and was done pass through and all

I have a video of shooting a doe the year before we switched to Rages.. I was using a G5 Montec and had the same thing happen from what it sounds like... Zero blood and a lost deer, and we spent plenty time looking... I can't blame you for switching from that cause everyone on our lease switched after watching that video!

It boils down to personal experience and personal confidence.

I have my xlr8 at 79 pounds and use slick tricks on whitetails. I don't have any experience with the expandables. Calculate your kinetic energy with the broad head set up. I'm right at 100ft lbs. That extra poundage is worth it to me for the extra power.

you are fine and i've shot a bunch of animals with a mechanical at less draw weight then you are pulling.

I've had complete pass thru with my Swhackers and I was only shootin 50#.

How much more do you need to kill the dirt after a pass thru???

You just have to line em up right and you can usually punch 2-3 tags per shot lol
