    Bad Year For Acorns?

Our lease boss was telling me there will not be much of an acorn crop. What says the green screen? Any truth to this ?

They have been falling in the hill country for a week or two already. Nothing heavy but seems early too me.

          Location?
Acorns are associated to the environment. If trees are under a bit of stress, lack of water, they can have a bumper crop, but if they are healthy and conditions ideal, they will have few if any acorns. All has to do with if they feel they need to reproduce or not.

(San Antonio) My Monterrey Oak tree put out more and bigger acorns last year than this year. And that was with the flooding we had April-June this year. This years crop is smaller acorns.

My oaks are covered up. Haven't started falling yet though.

I hope he's right, and there aren't many.
We had a HUGE acorn crop last year, and a a result, deer didn't hit our feeders with much regularity at all.

Lots and lots falling in Nac county. Not near as large as the size I found last year. Not necessarily a bad thing though.

We are loaded up with them in NE Texas, already starting to drop. Will hurt the early season feeder hunting, glad mine are in oak bottoms.

Our red oaks have been dropping for two weeks now and are loaded. Live oaks just started dropping and some have a ton on them and others none. Burnet Co
