    All Day Hunt

Thinking about sitting all day Saturday if I don't see anything in the morning. Anyone ever had any luck sitting all day, especially early season?

Best luck I've had hunting early season - all day has been when hunting on or very near a water source. Good luck!

I only do it when the rut is on but if you have the time and patience, have at it!

Take a book and water! Same deal - n the rut I have, as well as out of state, but not early.

I've done it a number of times later in the season when I'm getting desperate. Never paid off for me.

Never sat all day during early season in east Texas. I will sit all day in early November during the rut. Usually the weather is a little cooler and makes it easier if you have the patience.

I'm more inclined to during the rut or on a late season rifle hunt that's cold and nasty. They seem to move more during mid day which can be good if you can see a lot of country.

If you're bow hunting over a feeder, your TC should be able to tell you if it's worth it or not.

Have had all day sits pay off. There is surprisingly a lot of movement between 10am and 2pm. I usually wait to do all day sits until later in the year, or on travel routes and not food sources.

I try to sit all day every time out. I have seen deer move all times of the day regardless of time of the year.

It really depends on the property your hunting, some places you will have good deer movement during the middle of the day and others almost none. The deer at my place will move all day but I don't hunt all day but I will go out and hunt from 12-1pm to dark especially in the early season because the rut down here is just starting and late season. Just got back from the lease doing some last minute things and saw a couple of young bucks chasing a doe at 11:30am. I will more then likely hunt until about 9am on opener and then go back out a 1pm till dark unless I kill the buck I'm after during the morning hunt.
