    Will CHL Change?

I've never been a big handgun guy, so I've never bothered to go for my CHL. Now, with all the potential changes with the election, I'm wondering if I should get a handgun and get my CHL.

Do you guys think that CHL stuff will change *if* the election goes to the gun control side?

No it probably will not as it is state law - also there have been some huge cases this year with gun rights. If you ever wanted to get a "black gun"- AR15 or simular I would buy the lower unit as soon as you can though.

just in case it does change, i am going to put my application in now. I take my class on Oct 12. And will mail the packet off the naxt day.

I do not expect Texas will do away with the CHL.

It is called State's Rights......won't change......but they may outlaw semi's and fully autos.....that part would stink...

If anyone is thinking about doing it do it now as it will take about 4-5 months to get it processed. I am on day 92 now and they are still processing the application.

I don't think the CHL part will change but I am concerned that purchasing a gun may become a pain in the arse. I would recommend get a CHL for almost everyone. If more law abiding citizens had CHLs then maybe the sheetheads would think twice about jacking with folks. My $0.02

The chosen one has already stated that he will pass legislation to abolish concealed carry for general population.

But, I wouldn't just use that as an excuse to get one. I believe every law abiding citizen should take responsibility for their own personal protection and get their CHL.
