    How much time?

If you are getting on a deer lease, what would you consider to be to close to the deer season to set up?

I have set up stands after the morning hunt and killed out of them the same evening.

Depending on the area, deer will find a feeder and get use to whatever stand you put up usually in less than a week. i plan on adding another stand and feeder on ours this year during the season and hunting it with no problems. done it before and will do it again.

Set up ASAP...shouldn't take long for the animals to find it.

I've hung climbing stands and killed same day. Never tried with ground or box blinds though.

X2. I hunt out of a climber +75% of the time and I rarely climb the same tree twice in a row. If you're making a lot of racket setting up a big stand or something I'd probably let it sit a day or two, if time allows.

I agree and the reason I ask is cause when I put out last month that I had some spots open on my lease I had some people tell me it's to late now. I've also set up and have deer the same day or the next day.

So my question is how much time do you need?

I went in and hung a new set 2 years ago about 9:30am. By 10:30am I was dragging a deer out of the woods. Depending on how people hunt, a lot of folks change up sets throughout the season based on available food sources and the changing predominate winds. It's never too late to get set up.

I am thinking about two hours before daylight on opening day is stretching it but earlier than that.............

If you set up last month, you're good.
