    New Food Plot Drag

Built me a new 12' drag. Has 2" spikes on one side and heavy expanded metal on the other. Should work good for the little bit of farming I do.

So are the spikes to tear up soil, and expanded metal to cover seed?

Yes sir I have a little disk. Usually if I get it disked good and get a rain on it I will go back after its crusted over with the spike side, broadcast seed, then drag with mesh to cover. Left last one up north at a lease so built another one.

That should work great!!! Built one similar. You may want to add some braces on top to hold concrete or rocks for added weight. Good job

Where those expanded metal pieces meet I added another brace at each joint there. That 4" tube weighs almost 10lbs a foot so its pretty heavy. I disk before hand so I shouldn't need much weight. If I was using it alone I would probably add weight. What I have done in the past is added rock to the tube and welded cap on the end.

K makes more sense since you disk first, buddy built one with longer spike to pull behind his truck, tried to tell him it wouldn't work unless soil was extremely soft or disced first. After he broke them all of he called me asking if I could bring tractor and disc over lol
