    How long?

How long do you let your feeder spin during the offseason and during the season? I currently have it running for 4 seconds and was thinking about turning it up to ten once the season starts. Also for the life of me I can remember what I had it set on time wise during the season (after turning the clocks back) anybody else remember?

I have the 12v Eliminator timer and run mine a total of 14 seconds twice a day on high speed. First throw is 6 seconds and 20 minutes later second throw is 8 seconds. Same thing for the evening 6 plus 8.
350lb lasts about 3 weeks. I am feeding roughly 15lbs per day.
The number of deer you have at the feeder is directly proportional to the amount of corn you pour on the ground. When I hunt I pour out 50 to 100lbs for my chum line. They will clean up 50lbs in one night.

I only throw for 6-8 seconds even during the season. However a lot has to do with the gap between the funnel and the spinner plate. I didn't pay enough attention to that on set-up and one of our feeders went from brim-full to 25% full in a month and that was only throwing 5 seconds twice a day.

I usually turn them off from Jan through all of July, back on in early August. I may keep one running just a little in the evening if hogs are in the area. I want them to hit the protein in the off season.

I live fairly close to my lease and pass really close when fishing so it's not a big deal to make a trip out there. I let the deer tell me how long to run the feeder and adjust accordingly. My goal is to have little or no corn on the ground before the next feeder run. For example, if I walk out to the feeder anytime around 2 or 3 pm and there's a major amount of corn on the ground, I turn it down. If there's none, I turn it up and if there's just a few scraps I leave it. Same with the night feeding.

I will add to this, I hunt in an area with fairly low density. I've found this method to work for me.

If you're piling corn on the ground, it becomes a free choice feeder and you'll see more activity at night.

ill run about 2sec am and pm in the off season.
during the season and about 1mo prior, i am usually at 6sec., and will fluctuate between 4-7sec.
i will also keep an eye on this website http://www.sunrisesunset.com/USA/Texas.asp and adjust the throw times to when i plan to make my next trip.
