    Electric Polaris Ranger?

I've got a line on an electric Polaris ranger for what seems like a good price only catch is the batteries all have to be replaced. From what I can find it'll cost around $2000 get it up and running. That being said its a Polaris so I'm assuming I could get my money back out of it in use or a quick sale. Does anybody have one or have any experience with these things?

Yes, we have the EV and while we like the buggy, the charging system has a multitude of problems. We bought ours new and take meticulous care of it, so it isn't being abused. The charger went out on us within 30 days and had to be replaced and we have had nothing but problems with the new charger. Polaris didn't honor their 6 month warranty and billed us for the new charger. The dealership told us that we aren't the only ones that Polaris refused to honor warranty work with, and in fact the dealership ended up dropping the entire Polaris line over that issue. If you buy the EV I recommend buying an external charger and installing a voltmeter. The on board meter has never worked (it has been replaced three times in the first year). If you read the Polaris Forums you will see that the charging system is a problem for a lot of people, but at least it's an easy fix if you don't mind buying a new charging system.

If you get it and replace the batteries, but sure to check the charger's algorithm and make sure it's NOT on #73... http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...6&postcount=11

I've had mine for about a year now. Mine is a 2014. It has been great. Many of the early models had the charging system problems that huntress mentioned. My machine has been trouble free though. I did change the charging algorithm for a slower rate of charge though. It prevents the batteries from boiling as much, if at all.

The only thing I would change is get an EV crew if they built one!!!

WE REALLY like ours. There is not another electric SxS on the market that can compare. I certainly don't abuse the machine, but I use the heck out of it. It's a 2012 model and I have not experienced the charging issues others have. Although I have had some corrosion issues on some terminals, but I'll blame myself for that. Now I try to make it a point to check the batteries once a month. Pretty simple. It is awesome for hunting.
