Started bowhunting 16 years ago with my dad's old right handed bow. Been shooting right handed bows with success since then but have recently considered a left hand since I'm left eye dominant. I can shoot a boom stick either hand if the situation calls for it but shoot them left handed 99% of the time... I don't want to fix what isn't broken but can't help but wonder if shooting a left handed bow to match my left eye dominance would make me a better shot/hunter in due time. None of my buddies shoot left handed so I haven't had a chance to practice it. Anybody else had success with one hand and then changed later?

Change. It isn't as hard as you think, and you will become very proficient faster than you think. I know several people who made the switch and none of them regretted it. -
I've read several articles that say yes, you would be better off switching. Having said that, If I were you I probably wouldn't unless I were having trouble with accuracy.Comment

That's the way I'm leaning. I've been wanting to upgrade the Invasion after season but buying a high dollar new bow (that's foreign at the moment) scares the crap out of me...Comment

I know 2 full grown men who shot right handed their entire life with decent success but were left eye dominant. Both have recently changed hands and are much better. They both said it wasn't as hard as they thought and their aim is completely improved.Comment

I am right handed/right eye dominant. My son however is right hand/left eye dominant. He shoots better left handed. I have picked up his left handed bow and shot it very well. But then again, I can switch between eyes pretty quick given my lazy eye condition.Comment

I was in the same boat as you about 5 years ago. I shoot my shotgun and all my rifles right-handed still but my bow left-handed now. It was a little different at first but you will get use to it. By the way don't think that you are going to be able to just pick it up and pull the same weight you do right-handed HUGE difference!!Comment

I have been shooting a bow right handed/left eyed dominate since the '80. It works for me. I do prefer vertical pins to the horizontal ones in this case.
