    Moving to Houston

Looks like the career path has us moving to Houston at the beginning of next month. I don't start work until October 12 so I will get to hunt opening weekend prior to the move. I will be working near Clear lake so I will have to learn how to fish salt water now. Not sure if clear lake itself is any good fishing or if you have to get out in the bay. My current boat is probably not big enough for the bay. I did enjoy living in Allen and getting to meet some of my hunting neighbors while here.

Not to bad of a place to live as long as you're on the out skirts. Are you looking at renting or buying?

Moved to Houston almost 3 years ago. I use my 16 foot in the bay. Things here are different. But am learning where to fish and hunt, duck hunting is very good here too. Good luck.

We were going to buy but decided to rent for the first year and figure out where we want to live

Clear Lake is great fishing in the winter. You'll like there, our daughter and her family live in El Lago, great schools and neighborhood.

I love it here. I'm located in Kemah. Nice quiet little town with all the needs very close by. Also helps that my dove and duck hunting place is about an hour down I-10

I live outside of Houston. Conroe area. I like it here. Room to breathe and not far from everything. Clear lake is a lil bit of a drive. I used to drive one hour to the south side of Houston but am on a job site in spring now so not too bad.

A lot of great opportunity in that area and very nice places to live far enough away from the bustle and hustle of Houston. Friendswood is a great community with great schools, Sante Fe Archery, tons of great restaurants especially seafood. Even Galveston has some nice areas to call home, but the schools (public) there aren't so good.

Thanks everyone. We looked at Friendswood as well. Kids are all grown but we still look at schools just for resale value. We will start looking in the spring for houses and just rent until then

Friendswood is a great community. I grew up there. I just recently moved from Pearland(5 miles from Freindswood) to Kyle.
