    iPad help

I've got an iPad 2nd gen. that I can't get to work. It was working, then stopped.

I've tried recovery mode, but it gets stuck every time when trying to "update".

Any one have any tips? Tricks? Or do I just need to bring it in?

Bring it to the Apple Store.

You've done a hard reset on it? Have you done a factory reset from iTunes, how are you trying to upgrade it?

Are you sure that the 2nd Gen will accept the Update? I know my 1st Gen will no longer accept updates from Apple. It is too old & I am too cheap to replace it with a new one..

Yes. I'm not sure if I was trying to update when it stopped working? I figured It would have said something along the lines of "You can't update"..

I've even tried to go back and put in an earlier IPSW firmware to see if the newer ones had messed it up.

I've tried to do a factory reset. It comes up and says its "in recovery mode" and I must reset/redo the whole thing and make it back to factory settings. Which is fine, I just want it to work. It does it's thing and then at the point that says "waiting on iPad" it gets stuck and on the logo with the progress bar under it, and doesn't do anything from there.

I didn't mean when trying to update.. sorry for the confusion. It's basically stuck in recovery mode and I can't get it out of it.

This made me think. I tried to download the ISPW and see if I could manually do an update and get it running and see if that would help restore it.. I think I may have been trying to download the latest version of the firmware, but if the ipad is not supported by it, then it won't finish. It looks the latest that the ipad2 can take is 5.x so that may be my problem. It makes sense.. probably wont work though.

Try to jail break it. It could unbrick it. Then it should work.
If not, apple store can help

can you do this without being able to turn on the ipad or get any response from it?
