Will they let you go check it out without permit? Not carrying anything of course !

I don't think so most places you have to have the permit to step foot on the property whether your hunting or scouting. At least that's how it is at SASP

Copied from TPWD... It looks like you can scout, unarmed, without the permit.


Permits Required

Visitors 17 years and older must possess an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit or Limited Public Use Permit (LPU) Permit.

Only hunters must meet requirements for an APH Permit. Public users other than hunters are not subject to public hunting regulations.
