    Need some Polaris Ranger Advice

Ok fellas I need some advice. I'm really considering biting the bullet on a new 2015 Polaris Ranger 570 and I've found some pretty decent deals from dealerships looking to close out the '15's. I want a stock Ranger and I don't care anything about accessories, add-ons, wheels, tires etc. I want a roof and at least a half windshield and that's about all. I'll be working off of it on our farm and riding around on our deer lease that is connected to our place, about 700 acres total. I'm not concerned about speed and honestly I can't imagine I'll be hauling more than feed, some firewood, corn etc. I've got a wife and 2 kids so I've really been thinking a crew is the way to go. My late father had a single seat 800 and it's staying on our place up in NW Oklahoma and I've always enjoyed the compact size but it seems like a crew makes more sense for the kids etc.

So this leaves me to a couple questions..... Is the crew a bad idea? Will I regret getting something as long as a limo and trying to navigate narrow old grown up East TX log roads? Is it going to take a country mile to turn it around? Polaris keeps the turning radius a secret on all the Rangers, best I can tell. I measured my dad's single seat 800 and it's exactly a 25 ft turning radius.

If the crew is the best option for me, is the full size 570 crew the better choice than the mid-size? I like the idea of hauling 6 people vs 4, but in reality, I can't image I'd haul more than 4 people 2-3 times a year max. From the prices I've been quoted, I would only save about $1,000 or less if I bought the mid-size.

Then again, every time I think about this I ask myself it it's really worth $10,000 to ride around on our place? The crazy high resale value is the only thing that makes me feel a little better.

I have the 900 crew and love it , the turning radius isn't bad at all

We have a 900 crew, and unless you are trying to weave in and out of trees you will be fine. We have taken ours in some narrow spots and made it out fine.

In 2wd all it takes is a three point turn to turn around on a small double track road

I have the diesel crew bc of the farm work I do with it plus like you speed wasn't an issue. Turning radius is not bad I feel and if a spot has a tight turn it's a ranger, I just go over it.

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice. Seems like the crew is the logical choice. I was worried about the turning radius and the length but it sounds like I'll be fine.

I've found a dealer up near Dallas advertising the full size 570 crew $1,000 cheaper than my local dealer. I'm going to see if I can get the local dealer to match it. I'm sure they won't but I might just have to drive 3 hours north....$1,000 is a lot of money!

We have a 900 Polaris crew and a Yamaha Rino so comparing the turning radius of the Rino and the Crew is not even close. But that is not apples to apples. The turning radius is not great but they are great vehicles and we have had no issues, except the Grandkids bumping the top into trees and breaking it to pieces TWICE. Good choice.

That is my MAJOR regret on my Ranger, not getting a crew. I would never buy a single seater again.

A full size crew? Thats a great deal if so

A 570 is more than enough to do anything on a ranch and the crew doesn't turn as well but its not bad either unless you have very tight spots. I personally don't understand the extra money for the 900 for a hunting vehicle. Full size 570 crew would be my pick

You might want to consider the Honda Pioneer 700-4. It's similar and has the convertible bed to get the extra seats. I didn't have room for a ranger where I had to keep mine otherwise I'd have gotten a Ranger. Glad now I did not. I love this Honda, and it will turn around inside the radius of a Ranger crew full size, and almost inside the smaller verison. Got a buddy that has the small version crew and to me, it seemed seriously under powered. Three grown people riding down and back up a creek bank and it seemed barely able to make it up the bank. My Honda with the same folks on board went right up it without issue.

Details please? Best I've found for a green '15 full size crew is $10,700. Local dealer is $11,700. I'm all ears!

Salwater thanks for the info. I've heard great things about the Hondas. I've never seen one around here.....guess I should at least take a look at them. I'm not even sure where the closest dealer is but I'll check. Thanks!
