Another Buying A New Bow Thread...

Do not start a lynching GS!

If you had $800-900 (which I do) to buy a new bow what would you get? Here's some details. I'm a lefty and have been shooting Bowtechs for years because I like the lower weight which is important to me. I shot an obsession evolution 2 years ago and really liked it but it felt heavy in my hand. I'm looking for speed but not to forsake draw smoothness and overall weight.

I'm open to any brand and started looking at the Bear Arena 30 but did not shoot it. I'm leaning towards the obsession but curious about a Mathews since I've never owned one.

    What would you do?

for that budget, i would seriously consider these 3 im recommending, ive shot all 3 heavily

      1.Bear Arena 30
      2.Hoyt Nitrum
      3.Mathews No cam

all 3 shot really good, i loved the bear the most, overall it felt the best to me, the nitrum is literally right behind the bear, i just liked the looks of the bear a tad better, the No cam was also a great shooter, i just don't like the looks of it, but it shoots just as good as the other two, what fits me may not fit you, but those 3 im sure you will find that they are excellent shooters

I haven't shot many bows outside of bear and none of the new ones for that matter, but I have read where a lot of people like the arenas. Since you are open to any brand though I would definitely shoot as many as I could and the ones that stuck out I would go back and shoot even more. I don't think you can go wrong when you find a bow that fits you and what you're looking for, no matter the brand. Good luck and have fun in your search!

I'm a Lefty as well and shoot a PSE Drive LT and absolutely love it. But I would suggest going to your local Pro shop. Shoot different ones and see which one fits you and your style best. Good Luck with your hunt for a new bow. Also do your research. I'm currently researching for a competition bow that i probably wont buy for a year. Good luck.

Big problem is going to shops and finding lefty's in stock which is always a challenge. Archery Country is my only local dealer as far as Mathews but I don't have many local options around the Austin area..

If you have not shot the prodigy you should. That thing is a very sweet shooter. The RPM 360 is in your budget as well. When I bought mine All Star in Lewisville had a left hand 360. But that was a couple of months ago. Who knows may still be there give them a call.

I shot Bowtech for years this past spring I bought a rpm360 it was fast and shot good I just hated the way it felt in my hand. I sold it and bought a new old stock bear motive 6 By the way this was the first bear I've ever owned but it is a really sweet shooting bow and highly recommend shooting a bear. But nowadays I think every manufacture makes quality bows so I would try as many as you can before deciding

The NoCam is nice, but if you are looking for a bow in the 8-900$ range, you will be stretching your budget after Tax and any accessories.
I picked up the Mathews Z2 and love it. It's a better price than the NoCam and the quality is just as good. It's the first Mathews I ever owned.
I used to shoot Bear. Had a Method then the Motive which is nearly identical to the Arena. I would recommend shooting all of them and see which one you like better.
My Z2 at 65 lbs packs enough punch to kill two hogs at once. My favorite bow I ever owned

I shoot obsession and couldn't be happier. I chose the Phoenix. I don't know about dealers in your area but at one time you could order one and if not satisfied they give you your money back no questions asked.

Thanks guys for the feedback. They won't have any LH no cams in for a couple weeks plus I want something a hair faster. What stinks is the options around Austin along wth the limited to no availability of LH models. Really want to shoot a 2015 Obsession

Shot mathews for many many years. Waited for the release of the no cam, went in the next day and shot it, was going to buy it. But saw the obsession's there and had never seen them before. Asked to shoot one and now I owen one. I liked it better then any of the bows I shot.
