We usually make it a point to eat at Virginias, Trout Street, and Castaways when we are there

IMO it's a little hole in the wall place called Shells. Very small, local place and food is off the chain. They have steak, seafood, Italian and its darn tasty. We are pretty much regulars in that part of the world during summer and Virginias is nothing but a tourist trap. Over priced and not all that tasty. If you like the ambiance and what not of Virginias. Leave the island and go to Aransas Pass. Mickeys at hamptons landing is the same atmosphere but wwwaaaayyy better food.

When I am in the area, I tend to spin down to Fulton (maybe Rockport) and go to the Boiling Pot. Mostly out of nostalgia (went their with my wife on one of our first dates - about 25 years ago.

Sorry - honestly don't eat in Port A or Aransas Pass that often. Add to it my wife used to live in Flour Bluff, so she has her Corpus list of places to eat as well.

The Phoenix, get the tuna stack appetizer. You can see thier menu on Opentable.com

The Pelican Club, high dollar but really good.

The Tarpon inn is supposed to be awesome. We never seem to be able to get in.

If you want to drive to north padre The Black Sheep bistro is awesome, it has to parts to the restaurant, eat at the bar part.

Also on north padre, The Dragonfly is really good.

Crab inn, in Rockport if you don't mind driving a little way. It will be worth the drive. Best Sea food in San Patricio county!
