Open stands....does the bow color matter?

I've seen the arguments and the debates online and different forums. If you're hunting in a tree stand you need black riser, camo limbs. If you're hunting in a blind, camo riser and black limbs...blah blah.

In my experieces, I've hunted with full camo bows in different types of stands and can't say that it works or doesn't.

I recently bought a black bow with black limbs, and it's got Flo Orange all over it. Not that i think that will hinder my ability to take a deer, but what are you're experiences and opinions???

It does not make any real difference

You could have a floresent bow in either situation and it will not matter

Nope... I hunted from a tree about 12 feet up all last season with an all black bow... I drew back while a couple deer we're under me just for practice...

Deer are color blind. Don't move and don't stink.

I guess I've killed over 25 deer out of a climber wearing blaze orange during rifle season up here where it's a requirement. I'd lean towards the bow color having zero effect.

There are multiple tests proving that deer see on a different light spectrum than we do. They do see blue very well, but are more spooked by movement than color, as I've sat in blue jeans on the ground and hunted without the deer spotting me. My rule of thumb is to make sure you don't have any large amounts of blue on my bow. I shoot a black/neon green/white bow. Before that was all black. Before that was all camo. Never had a deer tell me they saw my bow after I killed them, so I'd say that anyone trying to tell you that you need a black riser and camo limbs or vice versa is full of it

For sure---color doesn't matter other than on the range in the eyes of some folks who get all worked up over their string colors and insisting their accessories must have the same camo pattern.

I don't think the deer care what color the bow is.
They can see blue very well according to some scientists.

Nope. It's what you kill with the bow that counts
