    Need some advice

I am going to be day working and running my own cattle. I know that i need to start keeping track of everything (gas, mileage, anything bought for work purposes, etc.) for tax purposes, where do I need to start? LLC or what? Do I need to talk to a CPA? Thanks for any help

I deal with cattle rancher/ag guy information all the time. Great place to start is the Texas Secretary of State or small business office. If you're planning on making it as legit as possible, you'll need the records, yes. But, depending on the type of entity you create, your record keeping will be different.

Yes, definitely. And you need one who is specifically familiar with Ag issues.

Having started my own business and advised lots of start-ups, I can tell you without a doubt that it is much better to start working with the CPA who will be filing your tax return to set up your books correctly from the start than it is to 'wing it' for awhile and then try to straighten out the mess.
