Solar Power as supplimental to house

we are building a house in the near future and my dad was telling me that there are pretty good rebates for putting in solar. we live in Colorado springs. looking for cost to do a 2500sqft house, will still be on normal AC power but use the solar as supplement/ sell back to the utility, benefits/ disadvantages, maintenance (we get a lot of hail), really just any insight people can provide, rebates for Colorado, ect.

search solar panels. There was a guy on here a while back that wrote a pretty extensive thread about solar panels. I think it might be a few years old now but the info was good at the time. Might send him a pm. I'll see if I can find a link.

I have talked to a few people trying to do the same and never had any luck getting it going very well. I have heard people have better luck with a windmill and running the electric like that. Hopefully someone on here has had better luck with solar
