Prayers sent. I had a friend die on Christmas Eve last year from alcohol abuse. I have not had a drink since then and it has been easier than I thought! You can do this!

Do not deceive yourself. You have two very real problems, drinking and a broken marriage. The drinking may have led to the marital problems but quitting drinking does not fix the marriage. It will help but there is no guarantee of that. You need to go to your wife and explain to her that you need time to battle the addiction and clear your polluted thinking and then, once your head is clear, address the marital problems. Hopefully she will give you that.

Hit your knees and have an honest talk with God. He will listen and will provide a path for you to recovery. God does not want you or anyone to fail. I will also be praying for you.

I tell people that ask about quitting drinking that they only have to give up one drink- the first one. It sounds stupid but that is exactly what you have to do.

Wow. Great reply. Prayers up for ya brother!

You can beat this disease! It will not be easy and you will have a few lows, but you will win! Keep your focus and reach out for support now not later. You would ask for help to cure yourself from most diseases, don't treat this any different. You are going to love the person you are when you are sober and so will everyone around you. I lost my mom to alcohol related liver failure this year and I know how deceiving this disease can be.

                      You can do this!!!!
