I have 2 here at the farm that we use constantly.
I have never turned a wrench on either one.
    2013 800 and a 2014 900 ranger crews
I could not be more pleased with them

No more Polaris' for me. Nothing but trouble from engine to drive train. Recently bought a 2016 Yamaha and I really like it.

I've never had any issues with any of the Rangers that me, my family or friends have owned. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't baby anything I own. Yearly maintenance includes changing all fluids and replacing drive belt wether it's needed or not.

Only issue I ever had was breaking a rear axel in Colorado with my 2013 800 crew. That only happened because of crappy tires that should have been replaced before making the trip.

Guess I've won the lottery 3 Times! lol

On my third one and no issues on any of the 3.

I have a 15 Polaris ranger 900 xp single seat only problem I have had is there is a whinning noise once I hit 3000 plus rpm in any gear forward or reverse. It come from secondary clutch . I have looked it up anf found this has been a problem for several years. Go check out the Polaris ranger 900 xp forum all kind of info on there.....I did buy extended warranity and service contract with dealership of Kents where I bought it. Actually I have used it to run down hogs in pasture it has 4 to it's name now.I run it in deep sand here. All three of my grandsons love it " GO SUPER FAST GRANDPA"......Andy

I’ve had 2 rangers nothing but problems and all I do is haul corn to the feeder no mudding or abuse. I have a Honda pioneer bought new in 16 and all I have done is put a battery in it. Best thing I ever did was spend more money and buy Honda

If you want reliability I'd look hard at Kawasaki Pro Mule. Had two Diesel rangers and went to a Pro DXT and it's above and beyond a ranger.

Best case I can use is go look at that mechanic's yard and see what's waiting to be fixed. Ranger's keep mine in business but the Mules and hondas per mine starve him!

I posted the above in 2015. In 2019 (I think), I bought a new CanAm and sold my Ranger to my son. He had a Kawasaki that was a piece of crap. He’s still using the Ranger with zero problems except he replaced the belt because he wanted to. I think the bottom line is you can get a good one or a bad one in any brand. I like my CanAm but so far the only thing that I can say that beats the Ranger is the power steering and they weren’t available on a Ranger as far as I know when I bought mine. The CanAm does have lots of storage but others may have that now too.

                          random old thread bump??

My 2009 has been a huge PIA. All the bushings last year and I think I need a second battery. The cold is hurting the one I put in before an elk trip in 2015. Brutal Maintenace I tell ya

Get a mule. Year 4. Just change the oil and put a new battery in year 2. Runs great.

I have a 2006 Ranger here in TX and a 2009 Ranger at my place in OK, and other than a belt and bushings, I haven’t had any trouble with either.

I hope the two I have last for a lot longer, because with the current prices, I’ll never buy another side by side. I actually already have the truck that will pick up Ranger duties when the time comes.

Got a 2019 John Deere Gator 865R diesel and it’s been bulletproof, have a 2010 and 2016 ranger and they have been for the most part trouble free.
