    Small Engine Trouble -Echo Weedeater

I'm down to my last chance - come on GS

I have an older echo weed eater 210 that's been running bad (starts but runs rough / won't idle up to full throttle, etc.- takes a while to warm up). I just put a new carb on it and replaced all filters and gas cap along with fuel lines. I also cleaned the filter in the muffler with a wire brush. It's actually running worse now. It will start right up but stall out right away especially when giving it gas. Not sure what else to do at this point. Help?

I know you said filters but just double checking on the little one in the tank?

Yeah I put a new one on to include the fuel lines. Any chance the new carb I put on could be bad/ adjustments?

Had the same problem with mine. Took the muffler off and found a large carbon build-up at the cylinder exhaust port. Made sure the piston was positioned behind the port and cleaned out the carbon. Replaced the muffler and she ran like brand new. Hope this is your problem and the fix works.

Yeah try removing carbon off the inside of the exhaust port, take the spark arrestor out of it, I just went thru an echo blower, same concept as the weedeater. Make sure your lines are deep enough in your tank and that your fuel filter line is Def connected, clean the breather plug that comes outa the fuel tank and check to make sure your rubber grommet is sealing seating properly. If u bought a carb kit like I did and u still have this problem throw it away and buy a sthil brand unit. I did it all. Finally tossed it. Even had a buddy who did small engine for 20 yrs check my work b4 throwing it away

Check for crud in the muffler like mentioned above.

ALso - the carb may well be out of adjustment. I've always just tuned them by ear. Turn them down all the way then open it up just enough to get it to fire. Adjust air and fuel screws until it sounds "right". There is a science to it, but I leave that to the professionals. (I'd put fuel injection on everything if I could)

                    Dump the gas.

Replace with the premix fuel. Ethanol turns to water over time.
