Considering one with the 5.7 Hemi. Like all the extras I can get without the huge price tag like on the Ford or Chevys. Anyone own a newer ram with the 5.7 hemi? If so what are your thoughts?

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 4x4. Highway and in town 14-15mpg. It came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. Here are the problems I had with it: Condenser Fan Motor, broken fog light bracket, leaking rear slider and struts leaking.Last edited by Joel1952; 08-31-2015, 03:23 PM. -

I have a 2013 Express crew cab with a hemi. so far best I have ever owned. 2wd get 20-22 on the highway. Really comfortable on the highway.Comment

One thing to consider. Consumer reports rates that whole group of autos as the worst as far as having repair issues.Comment

We have a 14 1500. Nice truck we really like it. You will have to get used to the 8 speed transmission. It really lugsdown at freeway speed, but you get on it the thing will fly. Go drive one we looked at Chevy even though our last 4 have been Dodge's. One had 220,000 when we sold it. Two we still drive one with 200,000+ and the other has 180,000+.Comment

Had a 12 quad cab 4x4 with the hemi and loved that truck. Kinda wish the insurance company hadn't totaled it. I would still be driving it.Comment

I have a 14 Larmie 5.7, and love it. The 8 speed tranny is great. AC is on the blink so its at the dealership as I type this.Comment
